Day 1

Paro

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure as you embark on a breathtaking flight over the majestic Himalayas. Marvel at the awe-inspiring beauty of peaks like Jumolhari and Jichu Drake from above. Upon landing in Paro, our friendly guide will be there to welcome you and accompany you to your accommodation. Immerse yourself in Bhutanese history at the Ta Dzong, now transformed into the National Museum. Here, you’ll encounter ancient paintings, mesmerizing armour, and a captivating “field of Buddhas.” Take a leisurely stroll to the Rinpung Dzong, also known as the “fortress of the heap of jewels,” and be enchanted by its intricate wall paintings that hold centuries of stories. As the day unfolds, meander through the lively Paro town, where you can explore vibrant markets and engage with the friendly locals. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 2

Tiger's Nest Monastery (3-5 hrs)

Step into an unforgettable adventure by starting your day with a delicious breakfast before embarking on a breathtaking hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, nestled at 3,100m. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche embarked on a transformative meditation journey here atop a flying tigress. Along the way, take a moment to savor a delightful lunch at the Cafeteria Restaurant while surrounded by stunning mountain views. Immerse yourself in the monastery’s sacred halls, and as the day draws to a close, return to Paro feeling spiritually enriched by an exceptional journey. Your night will be spent in Paro.

Day 3

Paro to Sharna Zampa: Start of trek

Get ready for an adventure as you embark on a scenic drive to Drugyal Dzong, where ancient trails full of history and mystery await. Journey downhill through terraced fields and orchards, passing by charming settlements like Mitshi Zampa and Sangatan. Feel the rush as you cross the Pachu River into the enchanting blue pine forests, where the Gunitsawa army post welcomes you at the trek’s entry point. After crossing a picturesque wooden bridge, ascend to Sharna Zampa (2,870m), nestled amidst breathtakingly serene meadows. Spend the night camping surrounded by nature’s absolute tranquillity.

Day 4

Sharna Zampa to Soi Thangkha

22KM | 8-9 HOURS | 900M ASCENT | CAMP 3750M

As you follow the winding path along the gushing Paro River, you’ll find yourself surrounded by lush pine, oak, and spruce forests. Make a stop at the charming Shingkharap at 3,110m for a delightful lunch break, and then take the path leading to a quaint wooden bridge. Traverse through enchanting rhododendron forests and ascend to the breathtaking Soi Thangkha campsite at 3,750m, nestled amidst vast meadows that stretch as far as the eye can see.

Day 5

Soi Thangkha to Jangothang

19KM | 4-5 HOURS | 290M ASCENT | CAMP 4040M

Embark on a breathtaking journey above the tree line, as you follow the winding river and soak in the majestic mountain vistas. Enjoy a delicious lunch amidst yak herders’ camps before taking a tranquil stroll through barley fields and the charming Soe and Takethang settlements. Your adventure continues as you traverse a plateau to reach Jangothang at 4,040m, where you’ll be awe-struck by the towering peaks of Mount Jumolhari and Jichu Drake dominating the horizon. Take some time to relax and acclimatize in this alpine sanctuary, surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Day 6

Jangothang

Experience the day by exploring higher altitudes with a refreshing hike. Immerse yourself in stunning panoramic views of Mount Jichu Drakye and Mount Jumolhari. Keep an eye out for rare wildlife such as blue sheep and golden eagles, or simply revel in the tranquil atmosphere of Jangothang.

Day 7

Jangothang to Lingshi

Prepare for an awe-inspiring adventure as you make your way up to the magnificent Ngye La pass at an elevation of 4,700m. The breathtaking views of Jumolhari and its neighboring peaks will leave you speechless. As you descend to Lingshi at 4,010m, you’ll be greeted by picturesque valleys adorned with charming yak herders’ settlements. Don’t miss the chance to explore the historic Lingshi Dzong, a fortress that offers sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Day 8

Lingshi to Chebisa

12KM | 4-5 HOURS | 160M DESCENT | CAMP 3850M

Experience the tranquillity of untouched villages and lush scenery on a relaxing trek. Explore the picturesque village of Chebisa, with its stunning waterfalls and classic Bhutanese architecture. Immerse yourself in the serene atmosphere by camping next to a bubbling stream in this perfect setting.

Day 9

Chebisa to Shoumuthang

17KM | 6-7 HOURS | 570M ASCENT | 290M DESCENT | CAMP 4250M

Ascend to the breathtaking Gogu La pass at 4,500 meters, where it’s not unusual to spot majestic blue sheep navigating through the rugged terrain. Then, make your descent through vibrant rhododendron forests and past picturesque yak herders’ camps to reach Shoumuthang at 4,250 meters. Here, you’ll find a serene campsite nestled alongside a gentle, murmuring stream.

Day 10

Shoumuthang to Robluthang

18KM | 6-7 HOURS | 700M ASCENT | 760M DESCENT | CAMP 4200M

Embark on a breathtaking adventure through trails adorned with beautiful edelweiss flowers, leading up to the majestic Jari La pass standing at 4,700m. Get ready to soak in the awe-inspiring panoramic views of the towering Kangbum peak reaching a height of 6,526m. As you descend into the enchanting Tsarijathang valley, keep an eye out for the elusive Himalayan takin known to call this picturesque valley home. Finally, arrive at the rugged paradise of Robluthang, nestled at 4,200m in a rocky meadow surrounded by untouched wilderness.

Day 11

Robluthang to Lingmithang

19KM | 7-8 HOURS | 850M ASCENT | 870M DESCENT | CAMP 4140M

Ascend to the breathtaking Shingchen La pass standing tall at 5,005m, the pinnacle of the trek, presenting awe-inspiring panoramas of the majestic Gangchenta at 6,840m. Journey downwards through the rugged moraines and fragrant cedar forests to reach the tranquil meadow campsite of Lingmithang at 4,140m, offering sweeping vistas of the imposing Tiger Mountain.

Day 12

Lingmithang to Laya

10KM | 3-4 HOURS | CAMP 3850M

Embark on a captivating journey through lush, moss-covered forests alive with the enchanting melodies of singing birds. Your destination? Laya, nestled at an elevation of 3,850m, stands proudly as Bhutan’s second-highest settlement. Immerse yourself in the vibrant tapestry of Laya village, renowned for its exquisite traditional attire and the genuine warmth of its hospitable locals. Engage in lively conversations as you savor cups of Chang, the delightful local wine, and unravel the captivating tales woven into the fabric of this beautiful community.

Day 13

Laya

Experience the enchanting culture of Laya as you wander through its stone houses embellished with vibrant turquoise and glimmering silver decorations. For the more adventurous, embark on a thrilling hike to the stunning Raphstreng Tsho and Thorthormi Tsho lakes, nestled amidst the majestic Table Mountain, known as Zongphu Gang.

 

Day 14

Laya to Rodophu

Embark on a breathtaking journey through alpine valleys to reach Rodophu at an elevation of 4,160m. Traverse rugged terrain, passing by grazing yaks and shimmering glacial lakes. Immerse yourself in this serene wilderness and camp in the midst of towering peaks that create an unforgettable backdrop.

Day 15

Rodophu to Narithang

17KM | 5-6 HOURS | 755M ASCENT | 15M DESCENT | CAMP 4900M

Ascend through the stunning Rhodo Chhu valley to reach the breathtaking Tshomo La pass at 4,915m. From there, immerse yourself in awe-inspiring views of the majestic Mount Jomolhari. As you descend through picturesque yak pastures, you’ll arrive at Narithang, nestled at 4,900m amidst pristine alpine meadows – the perfect setting for your campsite.

Day 16

Narithang to Tarina

18KM | 6-7 HOURS | 220M ASCENT | 770M DESCENT | CAMP 4350M

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure! Climb Ganglakarchung Pass (5,120m) and take in the breathtaking panoramic views of Kangbum and the stunning turquoise lakes fed by glacial outbursts. As you descend to Tarina (4,350m), you’ll pass through enchanting cedar forests and rugged terrain, creating a truly memorable experience.

Day 17

Tarina to Woche

16KM | 5-6 HOURS | 250M ASCENT | 310M DESCENT | CAMP 4350M

 

Get ready to embark on an unforgettable journey! The trail winds its way through enchanting juniper forests along the picturesque Tangchu River, with stunning waterfalls as your companions. As you gently ascend out of the valley, prepare for a thrilling climb up to Woche Village. This is the very first settlement in the breathtaking Lunana region, nestled at a lofty altitude of 4350m. Woche is your gateway to the awe-inspiring high-altitude landscapes that lie ahead. Spend an unforgettable night camping beside the village stream.

Day 18

Woche to Lhedi

19KM | 6-7 HOURS | 300M ASCENT | 450M DESCENT | CAMP 4200M

Get ready for an extraordinary adventure! Our trek kicks off with a leisurely climb up the picturesque Woche valley, where we’ll cross a babbling stream and make our way up a breathtaking moraine. As we descend, we’ll traverse the Woche Chu River using a charming wooden bridge before ascending to the awe-inspiring Keche La pass (4650m). From this vantage point, prepare to be spellbound by the spectacular vistas of the neighboring peaks, including the iconic three-pronged peaks of Jejegangphu Gang mountain. Our journey continues as we descend into the enchanting Pochu Valley, leading us to the welcoming Thaga village (4050m). Taking in the beautiful surroundings, we’ll then follow the Phochu River’s course, gradually descending to the warm and inviting village of Lhedi (4200m). Here, you’ll find all the essential amenities such as a school and health unit, ensuring a comfortable and enriching experience. Get ready to immerse yourself in the beauty of Bhutan’s natural wonders and vibrant communities!

Day 19

Lhedi to Thanza

19KM | 5-6 HOURS | 250M ASCENT | CAMP 4250M

Get ready for an incredible adventure! Today’s expedition will take us along the stunning north bank of the Phochu River. We’ll journey through charming small farms before arriving at Chuzo Village (4090m) by midday. Along the way, we’ll have the opportunity to explore the magnificent Chezo Dzong, a traditional fortress strategically perched with commanding views of the valley. After that, we’ll navigate the trail alongside the riverbed, then tackle a steep ascent to reach a breathtaking vantage point, which offers an unparalleled view of the expansive Thanza valley at 4250m. As the day draws to a close, we’ll set up camp amidst the rugged and awe-inspiring beauty of Thanza, creating memories to last a lifetime.

Day 20

Rest day at Thanza

Get ready for an unforgettable rest day in Thanza village, a hidden gem that feels like a step back in time to medieval Bhutan. Immerse yourself in Bhutanese culture as you wander the village, visit local homes, and witness traditional craftsmanship firsthand. For the adventurous, consider a hike to the breathtaking Raphstreng Tsho and Thorthormi Tsho, two glacial lakes offering stunning views of the majestic 7100m Table Mountain (Zongphu Gang). This day promises a true retreat into rural Bhutanese life and the chance to connect with local traditions.

Day 21

Thanza to Tshochena

18KM | 7-8 HOURS | 750M ASCENT | CAMP 5000M

Embark on an exhilarating trek with a challenging climb to a lofty boulder hill south of Thanza. As you journey through Danji at 4500m, a picturesque summer grazing ground for yaks, keep an eye out for graceful blue sheep grazing on the lush meadows. Ascend a few hundred meters to the ridge top and be mesmerized by breathtaking views of the majestic surrounding mountains. Follow the trail to Jaze La pass at 5200m, where you’ll be rewarded with awe-inspiring vistas in every direction. Then, descend through snow-capped peaks and tranquil lakes to reach Tshochena at 5000m, your campsite nestled in the heart of the high-altitude wilderness.

Day 22

Tshochena to Jichu Dramo

14KM |  5-6 hours | Ascent 170m | Descent 120m | Camp 5050m

Embark on an unforgettable journey as you trace the shores of a mesmerizing blue-green lake, then ascend to a breathtaking ridge reaching 5150m. Drink in the awe-inspiring panoramic vistas of glistening snowy peaks stretching as far as the eye can see. Trek past a glacial lake and traverse the Loju La pass at 5170m, winding through a yak pasture dotted with crisscrossing trails. Finally, descend to the Jichu Dramo camp at 5050m, the highest campsite of the trek, nestled in a stunning alpine landscape that will leave you spellbound.

Day 23

Jichu Dramo to Chukarpo

 15KM |  5-6 hours | Ascent 300m | Descent 950m | Camp 4400m

Embark on an unforgettable journey as you ascend through a stunning moraine path to reach Rinchen Zoe pass (5350m). Take in the awe-inspiring views of Gangkar Puensum (7520m), the highest peak in Bhutan, from this vantage point. As you descend through a broad marshy valley, you’ll be greeted by serene string lakes and picturesque yak pastures. Cross the Tampe Chu and trek through enchanting rhododendron and juniper forests, arriving at the breathtaking Thongsa Thang (4400m), nestled near Chukarpo. Get ready for an adventure like no other!

Day 24

Chukarpo to Tampetsho

19KM |  7-8 hours | Descent 80m | Camp 4320m

Follow the path along the picturesque riverbank and embrace the stunning sight of Galapang yak pasture at 4025m. Feel the excitement as you ascend through the lush juniper and silver fir forests to discover Tampetsho, a breathtaking turquoise-coloured lake cradled in a bowl surrounded by steep ridges. Experience tranquillity as you set up camp on the serene shores of Tampetsho at 4320m.

Day 25

Tampetsho to Maraothang

16KM |  4-5 hours | Ascent 280m | Descent 980m | Camp 3620m

Get ready for an exhilarating climb to Tampela Pass (4600m) with the chance of spotting blue sheep along the rugged mountain slopes. As you descend to Omtsho Lake, you’ll hear the tale of Terton Pema Lingpa’s legendary discovery of treasure in the 15th century. The journey continues past a majestic waterfall and a serene small lake, leading you to Maraothang (3620m), a vast open area adorned with yak herder camps. This breathtaking location will serve as your final night camping in the untamed wilderness.

Day 26

Maraothang to Nika Chhu Zam – End of Trek

 20KM |  6-7 hours | Descent 970m | Camp 2650m

On the final day of our trek, we’ll start with a leisurely descent through a beautiful landscape of mixed deciduous and bamboo forests. As we make our way through forests and pastures, we’ll gradually descend to a picturesque grassy area with stunning views of the motor road and Sephu Village at 2650m. Our trek concludes here, where vehicles will be ready to transfer us to Wangdue. We’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel in Punakha.

Day 27

Punakha to Thimphu (3hrs)

Drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. En route, visit Punakha Dzong, majestically located between the male and female rivers. Proceed to Thimphu via the Dochula Pass, where 108 chortens offer a picturesque sight. Check into your hotel upon arrival. After settling in, visit Kuenselphodrang to see the 169ft bronze Buddha statue. Enjoy the evening exploring Thimphu town at your own pace. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 28

Thimphu to Paro (2.5hrs)
