Traverse through enchanting rhododendron forests and ascend to the breathtaking Soi Thangkha campsite at 3,750m, nestled amidst vast meadows that stretch as far as the eye can see.
Day 5

Get ready for an extraordinary adventure! Our trek kicks off with a leisurely climb up the picturesque Woche valley, where we’ll cross a babbling stream and make our way up a breathtaking moraine. As we descend, we’ll traverse the Woche Chu River using a charming wooden bridge before ascending to the awe-inspiring Keche La pass (4650m). From this vantage point, prepare to be spellbound by the spectacular vistas of the neighboring peaks, including the iconic three-pronged peaks of Jejegangphu Gang mountain. Our journey continues as we descend into the enchanting Pochu Valley, leading us to the welcoming Thaga village (4050m). Taking in the beautiful surroundings, we’ll then follow the Phochu River’s course, gradually descending to the warm and inviting village of Lhedi (4200m). Here, you’ll find all the essential amenities such as a school and health unit, ensuring a comfortable and enriching experience. Get ready for an incredible adventure! Today’s expedition will take us along the stunning north bank of the Phochu River. We’ll journey through charming small farms before arriving at Chuzo Village (4090m) by midday. Along the way, we’ll have the opportunity to explore the magnificent Chezo Dzong, a traditional fortress strategically perched with commanding views of the valley. After that, we’ll navigate the trail alongside the riverbed, then tackle a steep ascent to reach a breathtaking vantage point, which offers an unparalleled view of the expansive Thanza valley at 4250m. As the day draws to a close, we’ll set up camp amidst the rugged and awe-inspiring beauty of Thanza, creating memories to last a lifetime.
Day 20
Get ready for an unforgettable rest day in Thanza village, a hidden gem that feels like a step back in time to medieval Bhutan. Immerse yourself in Bhutanese culture as you wander the village, visit local homes, and witness traditional craftsmanship firsthand. For the adventurous, consider a hike to the breathtaking Raphstreng Tsho and Thorthormi Tsho, two glacial lakes offering stunning views of the majestic 7100m Table Mountain (Zongphu Gang). This day promises a true retreat into rural Bhutanese life and the chance to connect with local traditions.

Embark on an exhilarating trek with a challenging climb to a lofty boulder hill south of Thanza. As you journey through Danji at 4500m, a picturesque summer grazing ground for yaks, keep an eye out for graceful blue sheep grazing on the lush meadows. Ascend a few hundred meters to the ridge top and be mesmerized by breathtaking views of the majestic surrounding mountains. Follow the trail to Jaze La pass at 5200m, where you’ll be rewarded with awe-inspiring vistas in every direction. Then, descend through snow-capped peaks and tranquil lakes to reach Tshochena at 5000m, your campsite nestled in the heart of the high-altitude wilderness.
Day 22

Embark on an unforgettable journey as you trace the shores of a mesmerizing blue-green lake, then ascend to a breathtaking ridge reaching 5150m. Trek past a glacial lake and traverse the Loju La pass at 5170m, winding through a yak pasture dotted with crisscrossing trails. Finally, descend to the Jichu Dramo camp at 5050m, the highest campsite of the trek, nestled in a stunning alpine landscape that will leave you spellbound.
Day 23

Embark on an unforgettable journey as you ascend through a stunning moraine path to reach Rinchen Zoe pass (5350m). Take in the awe-inspiring views of Gangkar Puensum (7520m), the highest peak in Bhutan, from this vantage point. As you descend through a broad marshy valley, you’ll be greeted by serene string lakes and picturesque yak pastures. Cross the Tampe Chu and trek through enchanting rhododendron and juniper forests, arriving at the breathtaking Thongsa Thang (4400m), nestled near Chukarpo. Get ready for an adventure like no other!
Day 24

Follow the path along the picturesque riverbank and embrace the stunning sight of Galapang yak pasture at 4025m. Experience tranquillity as you set up camp on the serene shores of Tampetsho at 4320m.

Get ready for an exhilarating climb to Tampela Pass (4600m) with the chance of spotting blue sheep along the rugged mountain slopes. As you descend to Omtsho Lake, you’ll hear the tale of Terton Pema Lingpa’s legendary discovery of treasure in the 15th century. The journey continues past a majestic waterfall and a serene small lake, leading you to Maraothang (3620m), a vast open area adorned with yak herder camps. This breathtaking location will serve as your final night camping in the untamed wilderness.
Day 26
20KM | 6-7 hours | Descent 970m | Camp 2650m
On the final day of our trek, we’ll start with a leisurely descent through a beautiful landscape of mixed deciduous and bamboo forests. As we make our way through forests and pastures, we’ll gradually descend to a picturesque grassy area with stunning views of the motor road and Sephu Village at 2650m. Our trek concludes here, where vehicles will be ready to transfer us to Wangdue. We’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel in Punakha.
Day 27
Drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. En route, visit Punakha Dzong, majestically located between the male and female rivers. Proceed to Thimphu via the Dochula Pass, where 108 chortens offer a picturesque sight. Check into your hotel upon arrival. After settling in, visit Kuenselphodrang to see the 169ft bronze Buddha statue. Enjoy the evening exploring Thimphu town at your own pace. Overnight in Thimphu.
